Lux Grand Baie

116 suites & villas, residences & private pool villas | rooftop infinity pool | contemporary design-led luxury

Set on a sheltered crescent of white sand on the northern coast of Mauritius, LUX Grand Baie introduces a contemporary and energetic interpretation of tropical luxury.

Designed by British interior designer Kelly Hoppen, the resort combines clean modernist architecture, neutral tones, natural textures and advanced in-room technology. Its sophisticated interiors are balanced by lush gardens, a calm turquoise lagoon and generous spaces designed for indoor-outdoor living.

The atmosphere is more vibrant and cosmopolitan than that of a traditional Mauritian resort. Days move between the beach, spa and rooftop infinity pool, while evenings bring creative dining, music and cocktails overlooking Grand Baie.

The resort is close to the boutiques, restaurants and nightlife of the village, yet retains the privacy and service expected from a five-star beachfront retreat.

Its 116 accommodation units range from spacious Junior Suites to two- and three-bedroom villas, residences and penthouses with private heated pools. This variety makes the resort equally suitable for couples, families and groups of friends looking for contemporary design and a more dynamic island experience.

Facilities & Amenities

All suites, villas and residences include air conditioning, high-speed Wi-Fi, smart room controls, Chromecast television, minibar, coffee machine, luxury bathroom amenities and terrazzo bathrooms with chromotherapy showers. Most categories also include a standalone bathtub.

Private residences and villas add kitchenettes, separate living and dining areas and individual heated pools. Private butler service is included with the principal villa and penthouse categories.

The resort’s culinary offering is one of its defining features. Beach Rouge combines a Mediterranean restaurant with a contemporary beach-club atmosphere that evolves from relaxed daytime dining to music and cocktails after sunset.

Ai KISU presents creative Asian cuisine, Japanese-inspired interiors and dramatic Warayaki straw-fire cooking. Bisou, located on the rooftop, features an infinity pool measuring more than thirty metres, private cabanas, a bar and globally inspired sharing plates accompanied by panoramic views over the lagoon.

LUX Me Spa offers personalised treatments, hydrotherapy, beauty rituals and wellness programmes. Fitness facilities include a rooftop running track, Technogym equipment, group classes, yoga and outdoor training spaces.

The calm lagoon is suitable for swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding and other water activities. Families are welcomed with children’s programmes, dedicated menus and activities, while Studio 17 provides a contemporary social space for teenagers aged twelve to seventeen.

Atmosphere & Experience

LUX Grand Baie is stylish, playful and distinctly contemporary. It replaces the traditional image of the tropical resort with a design-led environment influenced by modern beach clubs, private residences and cosmopolitan island living.

The resort is particularly suited to couples, families and groups of friends who appreciate sophisticated interiors, creative dining and a livelier social atmosphere. It is less focused on complete seclusion than The Oberoi, but offers a stronger connection to Grand Baie and a greater sense of energy.

Days can begin with breakfast beside the lagoon, continue between the beach and rooftop pool and end with Asian cuisine, cocktails and music beneath the stars.

For travellers seeking modern luxury, high-quality accommodation and one of the most fashionable resort experiences in Mauritius, LUX Grand Baie offers a distinctive alternative to the island’s more traditional hotels.

Location

LUX Grand Baie occupies a sheltered beachfront setting on the northern coast of Mauritius, within easy reach of the restaurants, boutiques and lively waterfront of Grand Baie. The resort overlooks a calm turquoise lagoon and is positioned in the Rivière du Rempart district.
