The Oberoi Beach Resort Mauritius

71 pavilions & villas | Turtle Bay Marine Park | private pool residences

Set within twenty acres of lush subtropical gardens on the sheltered north-west coast of Mauritius, The Oberoi Beach Resort offers an intimate retreat overlooking the turquoise waters and memorable sunsets of Turtle Bay.

Traditional thatched architecture, volcanic stone walls and tranquil water features blend naturally into the landscape, creating a resort that feels private, spacious and deeply connected to its surroundings. Accommodation is arranged across elegant pavilions and secluded villas rather than a conventional hotel building, allowing guests to experience a genuine sense of peace and privacy.

Service is central to the Oberoi experience. Discreet, intuitive and highly personalised, it accompanies guests throughout their stay without ever feeling intrusive. Days can unfold beside the ocean, around one of the resort’s swimming pools or within the privacy of a villa garden, while evenings bring candlelit dinners, sunset cocktails and cuisine inspired by Mauritian, Asian and international flavours.

The resort’s position beside Turtle Bay Marine Park provides excellent opportunities for snorkelling, diving and water sports. The coastline is beautiful and unspoilt, although parts of the seabed are naturally rocky and coralline, reflecting the protected marine environment.

The resort offers 71 pavilions and villas, all characterised by high thatched ceilings, natural materials, handcrafted furnishings and generous indoor and outdoor spaces.

  • Two-Bedroom Luxury Villas: Designed for families,      with two en-suite bedrooms, independent living spaces, a private garden,      swimming pool and outdoor dining pavilion.

  • Presidential and Royal Villas: The resort’s most      prestigious residences offer one, two or three bedrooms, extensive      gardens, separate living areas and large private pools. The three-bedroom      Royal Ocean View Villa extends across approximately 790 m² and      accommodates up to six guests.

Many of the private pools are temperature-controlled during the cooler months. The larger villas combine complete privacy with personalised service and are particularly suitable for families, couples celebrating a special occasion or guests seeking a more exclusive residential experience.

The resort features two main swimming areas, including a peaceful adults-only pool overlooking Turtle Bay, together with a family pool surrounded by gardens and water features.

Dining includes elegant all-day and evening restaurants, relaxed beachfront cuisine at On the Rocks and private experiences such as candlelit dinners on the beach. Guests may also reserve an intimate dinner inside the historic Gunpowder Room, an authentic eighteenth-century Mauritian monument.

The Hub Kids’ Club welcomes children from four to twelve years old with a heated pool, indoor and outdoor play areas, cooking activities, nature experiences and supervised water sports.

Wellness & Spa

The Oberoi Spa offers holistic treatments, massages, beauty rituals, yoga and wellness experiences in a tranquil garden setting. Recreational facilities include tennis, a fitness centre, diving and a wide range of complimentary water sports, including kayaking, paddleboarding, sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, glass-bottom boat excursions and guided snorkelling trips.

Atmosphere & Experience

The Oberoi offers a sophisticated but understated interpretation of Mauritian luxury. Its atmosphere is serene, romantic and highly private, with architecture and gardens designed to make the resort feel more like an exclusive tropical estate than a traditional hotel.

It is particularly suited to couples, honeymooners and discerning travellers who value tranquillity, space and attentive service. Families are equally well accommodated in the larger villas and through the excellent children’s facilities, without compromising the peaceful character of the resort.

Days move at an unhurried pace, from breakfast overlooking the gardens to snorkelling in Turtle Bay, spa rituals and sunset drinks beside the ocean. For guests seeking discretion, natural beauty and the refined service for which Oberoi is renowned, the resort provides one of the most distinctive luxury experiences in Mauritius.
