LAYOUT 

Azura Quilalea is the second luxury Indian Ocean Retreat from the Azura Retreats group, bringing Azura’s trademark African luxury to Quilalea Private Island in the Quirimbas Archipelago marine sanctuary. This is paradise for lovers of marine life, with snorkelling and scuba diving straight off the main beach. With just a few guests on the island at a time, you will be the only people snorkelling and diving here, and as a result the plethora of sealife on view is spectacular.  

EXPERIENCE 

There are some amazing dive sites in the surrounding waters, with walls and drop offs for the more adventurous. Exceptional nature experiences around the year - humpback whales from July to November, nesting turtles from November through to April, and pods of dolphins for company in front of your villas year round. There is also kayaking through extensive mangroves on nearby Sencar Island, sailing on traditional Mozambican dhows, and some fantastic deep sea fishing. Back on land, we offer exclusive picnics and romantic candle-lit beach dinners, island walks to view the giant baobabs, cultural trips to the nearby Ibo Island, and relaxing treatments at our African Spa.

This amazing resort boasts nine stunning villas of three different type of accommodation. 

The villas are all stylish, comfortable and very well equipped to garantee guests the ultimate privacy, Quilalea island is also available for exclusive rental. 

Kaskazi Villas – villa for 2 persons – total area of 75 sqm – indoor area 50 sqm 

A haven of rest and relaxation just footsteps from the beach, yet designed with seclusion in mind. The four Kaskazi villas are open-plan and spacious, with stylish décors of wood, cotton and materials such as rope, pebbles and rattan, all blending in seamlessly with the island surroundings. Guests need only take a few steps to the gleaming white beach, or they may choose to bask on their sun lounger on their private deck. All of the villas have a unique energy control system whereby guests can take control of their own eco-footprint. All mod cons are there if desired, including mini bar and air-conditioning, or guests can throw their villa open to being air-cooled by the natural breezes. 

Kusi Villas – villa for 2 persons – total area of 75 sqm – indoor area 50 sqm 

The four Kusi Villas have been beautifully revamped in that subtle yet stunning Azura way, with spacious bathrooms, natural furnishings and pure African elegance. Kusi Villas have the premium locations, with an additional outdoor shower and beach sala. All of the villas have a unique energy control system whereby guests can take control of their own eco-footprint. All mod cons are there if desired, including mini bar and air-conditioning, or guests can throw their villa open to being air-cooled by the natural breezes. 

Quilalea Villa – for 2 persons – total area of 125 sqm – indoor area 65 sqm 

The cliff-top Villa Quilalea offers the most astounding accommodation for a couple in the whole Quirimbas Archipelago, located on its own private part of the island where guests can enjoy magnificent views over the turquoise seas with dhows sailing by. Sip cocktails on the extended outdoor deck of the villa while watching the beauty of the sunset, or delight in an exquisite candlelit dinner served in the private dining area. Alternatively luxuriate in your private infinity plunge pool. Guests can access the ocean from their own cliff top step-ladder, which leads into a private alcove with a small beach at low tide, and immediate swimming and snorkelling at high tide, so to experience the impressive underwater world of Quilalea Private Island.
